Well, after I turned 16 and was legal age to get most of my piercings I kept
looking into new ones. BME was the first place I'd ever seen a conch piercing,
after that I was thinking, I already had an industrial, and that maybe I could
do a conch one. So I phoned up the place where I normally get all my peircings
and asked if he did conch vertical industrials, he told me that it depended on
how my ear was shaped and asked me to book my appointment and come in and he
would see. So I go to the schmata and he says that my ear was the perfect shape,
but he wasn't sure if I was ready and told me it would hurt a lot, I said screw
it and told him to do it anyways. My mom came with me because I was scared, so
she held my hand. With the conch being much thicker than my helix, I wasn't
ready for the pain that I felt when he did the first hole for my conch, I cried
and almost started screaming. He felt really bad and was just going to leave it
as one. but I took a couple deep breaths and was ready for the next one, it
didn't hurt as bad as the first one. But after seeing the finished piercing I
loved it right away. Its the neatest piercing I have for now, people think its
just weird, but the pain was worth it, I don't suggest anyone getting it for
their first mod though. I'd only had one before I got that one, so i really
didn't know what I was getting into at the time. but after that I just kept
getting new ones. I think my conch industrial really opened me up for more mods.
My advice to you, is to look around, think about it, and if you might think your
ready, just be ready for the pain that comes along with any serious mods. sure
they look cool, but the healing takes forever. But I've also had mine ripped
out three different times, so just be careful.
